Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using LoopShift (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

LoopShift is a habit-building and habit-breaking application that uses neuroplasticity principles to help users develop positive habits and overcome unwanted behaviors. The App provides tools including habit tracking, urge surfing timers, guided breathing exercises, coaching messages, group accountability features, and progress analytics.

3. Not Medical Advice

LoopShift is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. The App is a self-help tool based on published neuroscience research. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are dealing with addiction, mental health conditions, or other medical concerns, please consult a qualified healthcare professional. The scores, timelines, and projections shown in the App are motivational estimates, not clinical measurements.

4. User Accounts

Creating an account is optional and only required for group features and Pro subscription access. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

LoopShift offers a free tier and a Pro subscription tier. Pro subscriptions are billed monthly ($9.99/month) or annually ($39.99/year) through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • You can manage and cancel your subscription through your device's app store settings.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies.
  • Downgrading from Pro to Free may limit access to certain features (e.g., number of groups, coach tones, analytics). Your data is preserved but some features may become read-only.

6. User Data and Backups

Personal habit data is stored locally on your device. You are responsible for backing up your data using the in-app export feature. We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, app uninstallation, or any other cause. We strongly recommend regular data exports.

7. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the App (Profile → Account → Delete my account). Account deletion permanently removes all your cloud data, including group memberships, scores, timeline events, and your authentication record. Local data on your device is also wiped. This action cannot be undone.

8. Group Features

When using group features, you agree to use them respectfully and not to harass, bully, or share inappropriate content with other group members. We reserve the right to terminate accounts or remove groups that violate these guidelines. Group activity data (scores and outcomes) is visible to other group members.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, content, and code, is the intellectual property of LoopShift and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no warranties regarding the results that may be obtained from the use of the App.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LoopShift and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these terms. You may stop using the App at any time. You may delete your account at any time using the in-app account deletion feature.
